I posted something yesterday that seemed to get lost in the ether – Fergie’s revenge?

The gist was to thank Blooders for his kind words, to thank everyone for their heart-warming tales of the match, to apologize for not making it back to Manc any convenient time soon, to alert you to Simon Curtis’s excellent match report at Down the Kippax Steps (http://downthekippaxsteps.blogspot.com/), and to ask whether any of you fancy getting together to see City play in Beijing or Kuala Lumpur this summer?

Is it on SKY then Khammers Smile

I can’t see Senior Management clipping my ticket for an away day to Beijing I’m afraid.
Mind you, now Calgers and Balfers have new and far more lucrative jobs, maybe they’ll comp the mini-bus for an overland jolly?

    What say you chaps?

  3. Morning all…

I’m off for the weekend and will be back on Monday.

Kippo has tried (and failed) to log-in due an attack of the Fergies but hopefully we’ll get this sorted ASAP.

Vallers- If you have time can you have a look at this over the W/E? I had to create a ‘new’ profile for him as it was absent from the list of members.

Kippo’s e-mail address is the one in his profile.

Have fun and don’t make to much a mess this weekend.

    Bloodaxe

P.S. I’m meeting Blend on Sunday to re-live the events of last Sunday…should be fun. Grin Grin

  4. CHAMPIONS!!!!

    Thanks for the email Alph…

I still can’t speak, my head still hurts and my brain still cannot process the events of that magical, wonderful, unbelievable Super Sunday. From the absolute total depths of footballing despair came the most earth shattering explosion of joy, a level of euphoria I never imagined was possible and I still can’t get my head around it. I find myself sniggering at utd fans as I pass them in the street, chuckling to myself in the shower and god only knows how many times I’ve watching replays (YouTube, motd, sky+, ANYTHING) of THAT goal. I’m sure you’re all feeling the same.

I hope this post finds you all healthy and happy.

Take care, and enjoy being fans of the best team in the land and all the world!

    Jensen.

  5. bell boy:

I agree that it’s a bit early to discuss the in’s and out’s, although we’ll probably all be going through them in our heads.
There are a few who I can see leaving, either because of lack of opportunities or falling out with Mancini.
A lot will depend on how winning the title makes people feel.
For example Barry, Milner, Nasri and Lescott all took a lot of stick when they claimed, they came to City to “win things” those guys can give it the big “I told you so” now.
More interesting perhaps is the future of all those out on loan last season. especially some of the younger lads. It’s ok if you are 17/18 but 20/21 you may look at the first 11 and see no hope.

All I will say is my usual mantra, if we sell, sell at the market price. Emu for example, proved himself again so no more of this M16 nonsense please. If PSG are interested… it’s M25

Good subject and one we will no doubt consider when we are all breathing normally.

I think that there is a lot more to come from Nasri, he has had to change from a very clear style of play at the Arse and is almost (but not quite) there. We are not getting the best from Milner yet, a tough call, the guy has all the lifestyle, engine and attiitude qualities you could wish for and that lads qualities can only benefit the TEAM (capitals intended) but he needs to be coached into a role rather than being wasted as a utility ‘turn to’ or ‘bit’ player.

If he is prepared to stay and buckle down I’d keep Jonners, he has far more quality and ability to change a game than Downing, what was Woy thinking about with that selection choice? Now don’t start me on the ‘taking one RB, the incompetent defender Glen Johnson and using the next Duncan Edwards but actually hasn’t done anything very well yet (Phil Jones) as his understudy, whilst ditching Micah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    No don’t start me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anybody is interested the Manchester senior cup is being screened live on http://live.mcfc.co.uk/

It’s against the scummers so should be fiesty.

    Thanks boyo,

Wrong result but nevertheless worth a comment or two.

Fristly, season tickets became renewable today. Unsurprisingly I have renewed ours. Hopefully it will be some time before the Saintly notices that I used her credit card.

Over the course of the next season we will be (by dint of geographical location) unable to attend most cup games of any competition and quite a few league games. Now most of you don’t really know Pagers but he is one of the most decent and genuine folk you could ever wish to meet. He pays for one of our three seasons tickets every year but is hopelessly gracious in allowing us to have it any time Blenders is around and wants a game, and usually passes if the game is weekdays as he works many evenings and lives a couple of hours away. So if we can’t make a game on a weekend we offer first refusal on our two to Pagers, but there will be many some occasions when seats are available FOC and many occasions when I can buy our seats for anyone who wants them (I will graciously accept recompense on these occasions Smile

I do have to say that Marwood and Blooders are etched in my consciousness as being 50% of the buddies I had at the best day of my sporting life and this I consider best possible recompence for my long standing policy of never allowing one of our seats to be unoccupied.

    To the Football.

City played like a City team, albeit a young and inexperienced one, passing the ball comfortably and probing with possession football. United played like a United team and took advantage of a couple of opportunities whilst spurning another couple.

Paul Pogba must have been a real disappointment to the management at United, he has ability but drifted in and out and was overshadowed increasingly by Abdul Razak who was impressive after a slow start. The young French left full back was the stand out player for me. Jeremy Alain is a player to follow, he has all of the attributes at this level, if he can raise his game 2 levels he’s a star.

Karim Rekik and Dennis Suarez are both very good indeed, still with big steps ahead of them but very promising. Reece Wabara has played CH every time I have seen him and I’ve liked what I have seen, but today at RB he had something a little more adventurous and he may well be one to watch.

    Where was Gai Assulin?

Well, that was a bit draining. I was exhausted by the time MOTD came round. I’m glad the pundits always thought we’d win the title, although I must be going senile as I could of sworn Hansen never had a good word to say about us.

Everyones talking about the goals but watch Mario’s flick to Kun. Genius – he knew exactly what he was doing.I don’t know if it makes me a bad person but I don’t want rags on the Blue side of the MUEN congratulating us. They sound patronising even when they’re trying to be nice. You’re trying to enjoy the day and you’ve got to read that vomit inducing sentimentality of ISDEP and others.

You know, I think I am a bad person but I enjoy have my bitterness eating away at me – it helps keep me slim

I’ve been reading back posts again for the sheer joy of it.

Spotted this and my oh my how you hit the nail on the thumb Manners!

    Blessing by the bucketful boyo!

  8. Thanks for all the kind words about my essay, ‘Wot I did last Sunday.’

It won’t be a regular occurrence as I don’t intend to become a Boswell to Alph’s Johnson. (insert your own smutty joke here).

I also forgot to send congratulations and good luck to our Asian correspondent in the matter of the imminent new arrival of the latest member to the beer garden crèche.

I had an e-mail from Kippo (via Alph) complaining that when he turned up recently he found the door locked. The landlord has been informed about his lax opening times and with luck the next time he calls we should be open for business.

CITY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH.

I found another of those HITLER moments – Will try to post

  11. I heard you coughing at the back Manners, he must have his earing aid turned off.

    Giggle

  12. Gents – myself and she who must be obeyed will be back in the old country in August. I haven’t started the new gig yet but when I do at the end of the month, one of the first places I will be heading to is Dublin – so Valers, another opportunity to get me royally ratted and have some good craik. Thereafter, over to Manchester for a coupla weeks holiday. Right now, the dates are looking like Aug 3 – 22 for the trip so maybe an opportunity to get together for a fierce Ruby ?

I’ll be mobile this time so happy to take up chauffeur duties Blooders.

    Manners – any plans?

I shall be in Engerlund around 5th – 9th July, purpose being to attend the naming ceremony (‘Christening’ for you godsquaddies) of my granddaughter Maggie Seren Wild (Welsh middle name okay, Alph?).

Seren is a very popular Welsh name which (I think) means ‘Star’.

I once knew a lovely girl named Seren Dipity, just a chance meeting but with a memorable outcome.

Whilst it would be both impolite and impolitic to absent myself from Todmorden on the night of the 7th I will be available for pints/food*/City talk/scurrilous rumour/general craic around that time if anyone is available.

*Berkoz, I’d kill for a decent salt beef sandwich.

You’ll be lucky Valers. Most of the local Semites have long forsaken the kosher dineries in favour of the Yang Sing and San Carlos.

    I remain
