Uwe Rosler’s Grandad MkXXXII

  1. Calgary Blue: Valers – I also have some of the dreaded Apple stuff in terms of an iPhone and iPod (x2). I did have an iPad but gave it back ‘cos it drove me nuts and got another laptop which I’m perfectly happy with. I guess it’s strokes for folks but I have to say that swapping my BlackBerry for an iPhone was a big improvement.

Speaking of improvement – do the snug regulars (and Blend ), think we have the bit between our teeth now and will follow up Sundays success with a similar result on Saturday and then go on to sort out Villa and Sam’s lot? Or will we give up in the 58th minute (per Berko’s observation). Personally, I’d take a leaf out of Brendan Rogers book and go shit or bust with the same team as Sunday but this time, get Nasser to quit pissing aboot and get some quality balls through to Kun and Jekkers rather than leave it up to War Horse or Yaya.

It took me a while but I found a mobile that only does telephone calls. Eight quid, and a tenner now and then on the PAYG keeps me going when I’m on the road.

I have a PC as well. Don’t need or want any of the rest of the crap. I don’t do FaceLift, Twatter or any other intrusive nonsense. Life is complicated enough without all that!

  2. Valentino Azzurro: No sympathy from this quarter, Calgers. We are a Mac household. Between me and the DLOMS we aggregate 1 iMac; 1 iMac mini; 2 MacBook Pro; 2 iPhones; 1 iPod Touch; 1 iPod Nano; 1 iPad; 1 iPad Mini Retina. We do have a PC but it’s been sent to Coventry.

  3. Alphonso: Valers, a trifle conservative wot?

I wonder what that strange strangled whirring noise is, the one I can hear coming from the Nether Izzett Parish Cemetery?

Oh yes, it’s bellers in the corner plot, swiveling at high velocity. If he’s been buried face down he should arrive in Sidney any time soon

If Bellers is capable of rising from the grave I suspect he’s already done a bunk. On Sunday I did spot a guy in the away end at Anfield with 17 yards of royal-and-white wound round his neck. By now he’ll have been in The Jimmy Floyd Lounge of The Cooke & Chopper, sipping his pint of Grotneys while extolling the virtues of Maureen’s attacking football to a bunch of resting actors, Tory adulterers and card-carrying members of the BNP.

Anyhow, my team is not conservative. The presence of all those defensive midfielders is to allow St.Yaya to maximise his stats for rampaging elephant charges into the opposition’s box. Smouldering with resentment for failing to get POTY award he will extract maximum retribution from an Everton defence still basking in the afterglow of scoring Own Goal of The Season.

  4. Merlin is back in training, as he was only out for a couple of weeks he still has match fitness and would be a real asset against a side like the toffees who have to try to win the game and will give us some opportunities.

It may not be possible if Merlin isn’t fit but….

    ……………………….Hart
    Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy
    …Milner, Toure, Fernandinho, Nasri,
    ……………….Dzeko, Aguero

Bring Garcia on to shut the door at the back and push Yaya forward at some stage, always a good ploy.

We shouldn’t have to worry about Baines, Valers, he’s out along with Mirallas, Pienar, Traore, Oviedo and Distin, with no return dates scheduled. Jagielka may make it but is rated 50/50.

Our situation is rather better with Silva, Nastasic and Navas all training again and no other sick berths filled. If Navas were to be fit enough I could see him and Negredo having a part to play.

  5. Valentino Azzurro:
    Team for the Everton game?

Assuming Merlin is still injured I’d start with
    Hart
    Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy
    Milner, Toure, Fernandinho, Nasri,
    Dzeko
    Aguero

I’d almost be tempted to drop Samir for Aleks and keep it tight. Coleman and Baines are two quick and very direct fullbacks.

Hope you enjoyed your stay, did you get to the Palace game?
p.s If you find out how to turn off bloody predictive text on Apple devices, please let me know.

  8. Currently sat in the lounge at Heathrow waiting for my flight back. Well it was a short trip but totally worth it if only for yesterday and my prediction is still looking good although I,d love to be proven wrong with a battering for Everton on Saturday!

Welcome back Blend where have you been + this Mac keyboard sucks

  9. Martin, Kompo, Zabs, Aleks and Jerry immense at the back.
We are almost the only team in Europe still playing the offside trap and it is really working for us. Fair play to The Engineer and his intelligent players. Martin D will be a cult figure at this rate – I love the way he rarely wastes a ball when he comes forward.
Yaya and Kun should be fresh for weekend. Onwards and upwards, hopefully more o.g’s for Toffee full backs.
